Goodbye 2017!

I keep a daily journal as a way to document memories and reflect on the day.  For the past few years, I’ve written down goals for the year in the beginning of the journal and then compiled highlights of the year at the end.  It’s amazing how much can happen in the span of a year!

Here are some highlights from our 2017!

• Hiked Mt. Moosilauke and saw ice castles in New Hampshire
• Continued taking violin lessons
• Took the trip of a lifetime to Las Vegas/Grand Canyon
  • Saw Celine Dion in concert (bucket list item)
  • Visited a wax museum for the first time
  • Hiked the Grand Canyon (rim to rim to rim)
  • Got ENGAGED! ❤
• Greg worked in Ireland for 3 weeks
• My friends from high school came to visit and we went to Boda Borg
• Planned our wedding!
  • Wedding dress and venue
  • Photographer, videographer, band, catering
  • Suit and rings
  • Music and officiants
  • Flowers
  • Bridal party
  • Much, much, much more!
• Work trips to New Orleans and Mississippi (x2)
• Family vacation to Marco Island
• Engagement photos at sunrise
• Saw T.J. Miller perform
• Wedding shower (Beauty and the Beast theme)
• Played Pokemon Go together
• Ran the Boilermaker 15k (my 4th year)
• Made our own ice cream and bread with our new kitchen gadgets
• Watched Game of Thrones season 7 (and rewatched all of the previous seasons leading up to the premiere)
• Experienced issues with replacement fillings in my teeth
• Visited Wing and a Prayer Farm in Vermont
• Trip to Daytona Beach for a wedding
• Had Bachelor and Bachelorette weekends with our friends
• Solar Eclipse
• GOT MARRIED!!! ❤ 🙂  (The best day ever)
• Traveled to Woodstock, Vermont for a mini-moon vacation
• Paid off my student loans!!! (Undergrad and grad)
• Packed up the apartment by myself while Greg started his new job
• Moved to Virginia (Drove 13 hours from Boston)
• Traveled to Lexington, Virginia for a wedding
• Visited Washington D.C. to see Lindsey Stirling in concert for her Christmas album tour (we were in the 2nd row!!)  We also saw the band Alexander Jean (Mark Ballas and BC Jean).
• Saw the DC monuments for the first time
• Had Thanksgiving at my brother’s apartment
• Changed my last name!
• Got new sneakers (my old ones were from 2015!) and a new backpack purse
• Started a novel in November and made some progress
• Celebrated our first married Christmas on December 22nd: exchanged gifts then ate Domino’s pizza while watching Star Wars
• Watched Star Wars: Episode VIII!

2017 was a crazy busy and exciting year for me and Greg.  We are looking forward to more adventures in 2018!
