May the Fourth Be With You!

Happy Star Wars Day!

To celebrate, I decided to don some subtle Star Wars gear today for work!  I wore a plain black long sleeve paired with my R2D2 infinity scarf and my “MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU” silver bracelet.  I like how the scarf pattern can be inconspicuous unless you know what to look for.  😉

Greg and I watched “The Force Awakens” over the course of the past few nights since we bought the Blu-Ray this weekend.  As I watched the movie for the third time, I was taking mental notes on how I am going to replicate Rey’s outfit as my Halloween costume this year.  It mostly calls for a bunch of off-white fabric – easy enough!  I’m sure there will be countless versions of her scavenging clothes available in stores this October, but it doesn’t seem like it would be too hard to do myself!  I might give it a try.

Since we finished “The Force Awakens” yesterday, maybe we’ll watch one of the originals tonight.  I particularly want to watch “A New Hope” for this scene:

That face he makes at the end makes me laugh every time.

Or maybe we should watch “Return of the Jedi” for this Han Solo scene:

Have you ever seen the Family Guy versions of the Star Wars movies?  Hilarious.

On my walk home from work today I was listening to my favorite Star Wars song: “The Throne Room/End Title.”  I remember playing this song on my flute in high school band as a part of a Star Wars medley.  Epic.  Have you ever seen this video where they take out the John Williams music during the Throne Room scene?  It cracks me up and really displays the power of movie soundtracks.  Epic music can make the most mundane tasks seem momentous!

I’ll leave you with this picture of me and Finnegan (aka former First Order Stormtrooper FN-2187)

Thanks for reading and May the Force Be With You today and all days!
